Page Heading is one web part with three modes: a hero welcome band, a section opener, and an article standfirst with computed reading time. Home pages, department pages and news articles all read as one intranet.
Display-scale title, optional kicker and subline, up to two buttons, and a gradient or tint accent. Typography does the work, never stock imagery.
An uppercase kicker over a real heading, with an optional right-aligned “see all” link to a section landing page.
A lead paragraph plus a computed “N min read.” The calculation runs client-side and does not send page text to an analytics service.
Sizes scale smoothly from phones to wide monitors, headings are real H1/H2/H3 elements, and an empty heading renders nothing on published pages.
The article mode’s “N min read” comes from one request: the page reads its own canvas text, counts the words, and divides by a standard reading speed. The calculation runs client-side against the current page text; nothing is sent to an analytics service.
Page Heading is part of the page frame alongside Page Templates and Intranet Footer: every page opens and closes the same way, and the content between them is up to each page.

Banner is media-first: image and video backgrounds with art direction. Page Heading is type-first: structure and hierarchy with a restrained accent. Many intranets use Banner on the home page and Page Heading everywhere else.
The part reads the current page’s own text, counts words, and rounds up at a standard reading speed. The calculation runs client-side and does not send page text to an analytics service.
You pick the mode and type the text per page; headings are content. The consistency comes from the shared typographic system, which is the part itself.
